Is Recipe good for daschund?

You sound very knowlegable about dog food. My daschund is 11-month old and used to eat Recipe - Puppy, lamb meal & rice formula. I wanna change to adult food when she is 1-year old. I heard that after a certain period of time, you need to change the brand. Is it really necessary?
