You can just study for the GMAT exam yourself and take it. That's what I did and am doing now.

Can't be bothered to take courses. Save money too!

dont even need a fucking book

For some people, paying and taking those prep course will "force" them to prepare for the exam as they may need someone to "push" them to study.

For others, self study would be sufficient.

Note, places like Prinxxton Revxxw are quite expensive.

Exactly, so there really isn't one standard answer. It really depends on what kind of person you are.
