President Hu Jintao is now visiting countries in Africa. Despite of the current global
financial crises, Hu said that China would continue to increase aid to Africa during his
state visits. It is hoped that China and African countries will be able to weather the
difficult times together through mutual support. China is a genuine friend of Africa.
Well says the proverb that a friend indeed is a friend in need.
Someone may criticize that China should mind her own business while she is in hot
water herself. However, I think it is OK if the aid is within our capability. China will
further take concrete actions to enrich the cooperation between the two sides by
increasing investments in Africa to fulfill the commitments it made during the China-Africa
Cooperation Forum Beijing Summit in 2006. In the end, we help Africa to help us.
This is a win-win situation.
