安察洛堤將不會離開AC米蘭

Far from quitting at the end of the season, the latest reports from Italy suggest that the Diavoli’s coach could be poised for a longer stay at Milan...

Despite a number of growing rumours surrounding Carlo Ancelotti's future, it seems as if the coach will not quit Milan at the end of the season.

There were reports on Friday that the former Juventus man would be making room on the San Siro bench for Leonardo. In addition, owner Silvio Berlusconi was transparent with his disappointment following the UEFA Cup clash with Werder Bremen in midweek. Speculation that Ancelotti could resign followed, with a number of reports suggesting that he would go at the end of the season.

In contrast, Il Corriere Dello Sport claims that the Italian will not be moving, firmly putting to bed any rumours of him quitting. In fact, the Rome-based publication suggests the Via Turati club are looking to offer the tactician a new deal.

The Rossoneri have been struggling of late and their Scudetto hopes have faded; they are currently 11 points behind bitter city-rivals Inter in the race for the championship. The only remaining hope of silverware this season is the UEFA Cup but even that is no easy task.

Nevertheless, the problems at San Siro will not be enough to see the coach leave. Even the lure of taking charge at Chelsea or Real Madrid next season is unlikely to be enough of a temptation to warrant a resignation from Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, Milan take on Cagliari on Sunday afternoon, hoping to bounce back from last week's derby loss. However, they may have to do it without Ronaldinho and Kaka, who are both doubtful for the match.
