As stated in wikipedia, the pale green light emitted by watches, ceiling star in the dark is due to the phosphorescent paint. The paint usually absorbs UV or visible light as energy source and glows as pale green color. However, how the paint "stores" the energy? And what is the mechanism of glowing?
